Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Art Therapist
I am passionate about helping clients create a life they love. With mindfulness-based techniques, my clients experience increased confidence to live according to their values and cope more effectively with all the emotions that come with living a full and meaningful life.
I developed my practice to provide my clients with concrete skills and tools that they can use as they navigate their life. Through the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), clients can begin to learn the skills to help effectively manage stressors, improve their emotion regulation, better tolerate distress while strengthening their ability to stay present in the moment.
Doctor of Psychology, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
I believe that life transitions sometimes requires coping skills that we have not yet learned. Working as a team, we will collaborate to develop a workable treatment plan. I am confident that you will soon be on your way to a life free of the burden of your anxiety.
My practice focuses on strengthening the relationship to self, connecting to mind/body, and healing through the power of a therapeutic relationship. I believe in human resiliency and in the power of change through connection, conversation and awareness.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the most empirically supported mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapies. My approach is client-centered, compassionate, and evidence-based. I utilize a strength-based approach while teaching skills so individuals can navigate their internal and external world with more ease.
The goal is for my clients to more deeply understand who they are and what they need out of life to find peace and satisfaction. I help people explore and heal the underlying issue causing their emotional pain, while also discussing specific coping skills that can be used to manage current distress.
My approach is eclectic, holistic and technique-based. With the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other therapies we collaborate to define your goals and understand barriers and plan the best approach to achieve emotional wellness.
My work integrates psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness approaches, and I select interventions based on what will help you the most.I treat anxiety, depression, and identity (career, cultural, sexual) and relationship issues (peers, intimates, family).
Making a difference in the world is what led me to become a therapist. My practice utilizes insight, mindfulness and relationship to help clients see that they are not alone and that change is possible.
I help people identify the deeper causes of their problems and make important changes in their lives. My aim is to help people to develop greater self-awareness and internal strength, find meaning and hope, and cultivate more satisfying relationships.
Women are 2-3 times more likely to be depressed than men and the reproductive years present the most challenges. A pregnant or postpartum woman who finds herself distressed, depressed and anxious often feels alone. You may feel ashamed, alienated, inadequate and guilty. You may wonder how you could feel this bad when you love your baby. These thoughts and feelings are symptoms. They are not a definition of who you are as a person, a woman, or a mother. You are not alone, this is not your fault. With treatment, you can feel better.
I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with the skills they have at the time. If you feel like the ways you are coping aren't working well enough anymore or that difficult emotions are getting in the way, let's talk.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is the biggest motivator for change. Using experiential techniques, brainspotting, and my own transformative life experiences, I aid clients towards a greater sense of self, improved relationships, and deeper life satisfaction.
After nearly a decade in the entertainment industry, I left my post in the publicity department at a major movie studio to pursue my passion of becoming a psychotherapist to offer high-quality psychotherapy and coaching services to clients in the community.
My driving passion as a therapist is to help others live with inner peace, ease, and balance despite challenging circumstances. I tailor my approach to the unique needs of the individual or couple and teach practical ways to problem solve and develop skills which decrease stress and increase joy.
I work relationally and in a humanistic approach to provide a safe and nurturing space in which your difficulties and struggles can be understood, heard and treated. I specialize in treating developmental trauma with the use of EMDR and somatic modalities. It is my primary goal to provide a nurturing caring environment to explore and process trauma wounds which fosters greater growth and healing.
My practice is based on two principles: helping my clients bear their stressors more adaptively with new skills and assisting them in tolerating and building a new relationship to the underlying emotions that cause the anxiety, depression, pain and poor interactions with others that plague their lives.
Therapy provides an opportunity for exploration of who we are, what we want, and how we pursue it. Together we empathically look at aspects of your life which may contribute to you feeling “stuck,” and develop health and effective ways you can continue to move forward.
I want all my clients to be able to have a peaceful relationship with food and with their bodies and I want parents to feel empowered to know how to raise children to have a healthy relationship with food. I want my clients with eating disorders to be provided with evidence based treatments and to have the best shot of getting back to their lives as quickly as possible.
As a fellow human being who has grown and healed through my own challenges, I approach therapy on an equal playing field and have the training and experience to help you do the same. I feel our greatest teacher is within and it is my job to help you learn to trust in yourself.
I am a big believer that our sexual health is an integral part of our emotional and physical well-being. Through the use of psychodynamic therapy and attachment theory, clients will learn how their early, primary relationships impact their current relationships, and discover how to cultivate a healthier relationship with themselves and their partners.
I am passionate about helping others learn to love and believe in themselves and help shift the patterns of behavior that are no longer serving them. My goal is to help clients learn to have a better relationship with themselves, their bodies and others in their life, in hopes of enriching their overall life experience.
As a licensed Marriage and Family therapist with over 30 years in private practice, my emphasis is helping clients heal the early childhood trauma which prevents them from creating fulfilling and committed personal relationships and success in their chosen career/business. We have all experienced loss and change in one way or another. Whether it be the death of a loved one or the loss of a job, it is important to process the impact of the loss and/or change in order to move on. I establish a safe space for you to share your journey while also focusing on how unconscious and underlying thoughts arise from our developmental years and ultimately affect our unhealthy coping mechanisms today.
My work is driven by my sincere intention to help people expand their ability to live an authentic life with a sense of purpose that is in line with their values. By helping clients restore mental and emotional well being, they are more free to live and create their life more meaningfully.
Both in my position as a Lecturer at UCLA and in my private practice, I always attempt to create an atmosphere of warmth and support in which learning and therapy can best occur. I focus on using evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which provides effective treatment in a collaborative and time efficient manner (3-6 months).
I provide integrative mind and body services that incorporate elements of traditional psychotherapy, mindfulness meditation and yoga therapy. Integrative mind-body therapy allows for greater awareness, healing and balance of the whole self: mental, emotional and physical.
