Laudan Kermani Gish, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

After nearly a decade in the entertainment industry, I left my post in the publicity department at a major movie studio to pursue my passion of becoming a psychotherapist to offer high-quality psychotherapy and coaching services to clients in the community.

Laudan Kermani Gish earned her Master’s degree in Social Welfare and her Pupil Personnel Services Credential from UCLA. Laudan practices in Beverly Hills and services the greater Los Angeles area, where she provides individualized psychotherapy and coaching services in both English and Farsi. Laudan is insight-oriented and provides a safe and supportive environment for her clients to pursue self-discovery and emotional healing. Her comprehensive approach incorporates emotional, environmental and cultural struggles impacting the lives of her clients. She has been praised for integrating evidence-based therapies to best meet the needs of her clients.

Laudan has extensive experience integrating Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), among others.

She has helped a broad range of clients cope with issues pertaining to anxiety & athletic performance, body image issues, career and professional development as well as depression and personal growth (among others).

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A form of talk therapy that trains clients to recognize
patterns of unproductive thinking and learn healthier responses to challenging situations.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): A subset of CBT that emphasizes a skills-based approach to personal development and tools for controlling one’s emotional responses to stimulus.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Is a therapeutic technique
specific to the treatment of trauma and PTSD in which clients recall their traumatic experiences while their therapist directs their sensory attention elsewhere.

Intuitive Eating: Is a clinical orientation towards the treatment of eating disorders with the
approach that each client is a respective expert on the needs of their own body. Clients work with their therapists to understand the rhythm and intuition of their own body.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR): a meditation-based therapeutic program
designed to treat anxiety, depression, stress and pain by training one’s mind to build awareness of one’s body, thoughts, behaviors by focusing intensely on the present.

Psychodynamic Therapy: A clinical approach that aims to promote self-awareness and insights by assessing how previous experiences have influenced current and ongoing behaviors. In this process clients gain perspective into behaviors and relationship issues that they may have not been fully cognizant of.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy: is a therapeutic approach that emphasizes a client’s vision and solution instead of a source of their problems. Clinicians practicing SFBT guide clients towards engaging solutions and plans for actualizing them.
