With over 10 years of clinical experience, I have developed an affirming and non-judgmental therapeutic approach. My experiences as a clinician working within several communities including the LGBT and substance abuse communities, have made me especially sensitive to the unique needs of all my clients. I specialize in treating Borderline Personality Disorder with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and also Addiction. My private practice is in the heart of West Hollywood and I also have an office in Long Beach.
I utilize a variety of treatment modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Therapy to best meet the unique needs of my clients. I emphasize a skills-based approach to treatment, whereby I help equip my clients with the skills necessary to overcome emotional dysregulation and impulsivity.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): A subset of CBT that emphasizes a skills-based approach to personal development and tools for controlling one’s emotional responses to stimulus.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A form of talk therapy that trains clients to recognize patterns of unproductive thinking and learn healthier responses to challenging situations.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR): a meditation-based therapeutic program designed to treat anxiety, depression, stress and pain by training one’s mind to build awareness of one’s body, thoughts, behaviors by focusing intensely on the present.
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT): A therapy modality specifically designed for the treatment of depression that works by emphasizing healthier relationships and effective communication.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT): a therapeutic approach that aims to increase client’s awareness and ability to be present while accepting external conditions and making meaningful commitments to behavioral change.
