Kristine Ives, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
I believe the therapeutic relationship is the biggest motivator for change. Using experiential techniques, brainspotting, and my own transformative life experiences, I aid clients towards a greater sense of self, improved relationships, and deeper life satisfaction.
I am a passionate advocate for those who feel they do not have a voice, that they are not empowered to heal, or cannot envision a hopeful future. From my extensive experience working with issues related to trauma, eating disorders, addiction, and depression, I help chart a course out of the maze of dysfunction and onto the path of authentic connection to self and others. I believe that deeply understanding who we are in relationships moves us forward in the healing process. Most of our triumphs and struggles occur in the context of relationships, especially our relationship to self. By gaining a greater connection to our own passions, fears, and desires we can create a new way of functioning in the world.
My area of specialty is anyone who has a desire to make shifts in their life and has the willingness for self reflection. I am less focused on a presenting problem and more connected to working with people who have identified something that is not quite working and want to look at the patterns that are impacting them.
Psychodrama: Is an action-oriented form of psychotherapy in which a client assumes the role of a protagonist and is encouraged to explore events and experiences that are emotionally challenging with the support of a clinician.
Brainspotting: Brain-spotting: Is a deep-brain sensory therapy designed to help clients process trauma and alleviate both emotional and physical pain.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (Informed): a therapeutic approach that aims to increase client’s awareness and ability to be present while accepting external conditions and making meaningful commitments to behavioral change.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Informed): A form of talk therapy that trains clients to recognize patterns of unproductive thinking and learn healthier responses to challenging situations.
