Jennifer Schneider, PhD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

I seek to help my clients find a way to live their most authentic and meaningful life and to create more options for happiness through self-discovery and self-actualization.

In my therapy practice, I nurture a trusting relationship; one in which clients can feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings. I work collaboratively and am interactive in my approach to therapy. I believe it is the relationship between a client and therapist that is paramount in creating lasting change and personal healing. Developing trust, understanding and authenticity is essential before any meaningful healing can take place. I work with my patients to help them achieve an awareness of themselves and their personal histories in order to broaden and deepen their sense of self-efficacy and self-esteem. I have extensive experience helping individuals heal from past traumatic experiences so they can live more fully in the present. By exploring and understanding one’s personal and family history, individuals can more thoroughly explore their choices and make I use a combination of psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive behavioral therapy in my practice. Every patient is treated with openness and authenticity in a non-judgmental approach, where they are invited to bring every part of themselves into the room. I am open and warm and most of all, I am a person and relate to people as such. I recognize that it takes great courage to come share your deepest secrets with someone and I show my clients respect and compassion as they allow me to go on this journey with them. It is a privilege and I am honored and touched by the work I get to do.better decisions to live a happier and more fulfilling life.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A form of talk therapy that trains clients to recognize
patterns of unproductive thinking and learn healthier responses to challenging situations.

Internal Family System Model: IFS promotes healthy internal connections with the
divergent systems within the self and seeks to reset the relationships between client’s
subpersonalities that are causing emotional tension.

Intuitive Eating: Is a clinical orientation towards the treatment of eating disorders with the
approach that each client is a respective expert on the needs of their own body. Clients work with their therapists to understand the rhythm and intuition of their own body.

Psychodynamic Therapy: A clinical approach that aims to promote self-awareness and insights by assessing how previous experiences have influenced current and ongoing behaviors. In this process clients gain perspective into behaviors and relationship issues that they may have not be fully cognizant of.

Relational Therapy: In this therapy modality, healthy relationships are seen as central to
emotional well-being. By emphasizing our relationships with ourselves and those close to us, relational theory helps build self-esteem and the power of inter-connectedness.
